The Stratos bar and restaurant was a Preston city centre project for the San Marco Group. Hamilton Construction acted as the main contractor to carry out a commercial refurbishment project to an existing city-centre property. Complex structural alterations were required to remodel the existing town centre building into a contemporary bar and restaurant. The Stratos bar and restaurant project was carried out on a design and build basis with a construction period of four months.

The lower ground floor of the building was renovated and services installed. The existing internal walls of the building were removed, suspended ceilings were added and the original curved ceilings renovated to maintain the vision of the project. Aluminium glazed doors and windows were installed to the street elevation.

The building had a new re-formed kitchen area with services installed for the purpose of the new project. There was also the addition of a bespoke bar, raised seating areas, stainless steel and glass balustrades and a feature fireplace, all maintaining the vision for the modernisation of the building. The existing staircase was refurbished with the addition of fire doors leading to the first floor private function room and ancillary areas. The street elevation involved a sensitive upgrade, using lighting tile and render finishes which offered improvements within the planning requirements and development constraints but also added the final touch for the bespoke refurbishment project.
